Immersive Embroidery Course

  • GREENDOOR STUDIOS 1 Rosgoll Rd Robertson, NSW 2577 Australia (map)

I’ve put together this two day immersive course so you can learn my unique style which combines my four go-to practices.

  1. Using carefully selected stitches that cover all her patterns.

  2. Mastering the herringbone stitch to do large projects quickly.

  3. Method for choosing colours for embroidery projects.

  4. Method for knowing what stitches to choose for embroidery patterns.

If you’ve been following me for some time you’ll be familiar with my Eastern European influence and that I openly encourage students to embrace imperfection and not unpick their work.

I’ve designed this two-day course to give you full autonomy over your embroidery practice enabling you to make pattern variations, colour and stitch choices.

You’ll come away with all the skills to start AND FINISH embroidery projects with freedom as well as to make your own decisions about which stitch to place where, what colours to use and what to make out of your finished piece in the end.

The course is suitable for absolute beginners and seasoned stitchers who are looking at expanding beyond traditional practices.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • My six go to stitches that cover most of my patterns and how to use them effectively. (No one needs to know the whole stitch bible!)

  • Easy ways to transfer a pattern onto fabric. (Find out why there’s a reason blank linen is so good to use.)

  • The herringbone stitch and how to cover large shapes quickly. (This might become the only stitch you’ll ever need)

  • My favourite shortcuts and tips for easy embroidery. (Because embroidery is meant to be relaxing not frustrating)

  • How to use a hoop effortlessly (There is a way!)

  • How to modify embroidery patterns when you need or want to.

  • My own developed method for using colour for embroidery work. (Total life changer and no more colour overwhelm) .

The two-day course includes:

  • Two panels of linen (45cm x 45cm).

  • Pattern (students choose one of two).

  • Embroidery threads (students choose one of two styles).

  • Needles.

  • Embroidery hoop.

  • Demonstrations via large TV screen so students don’t have to huddle around a small hoop while I demonstrate stitches.

  • 12 hours of tuition.

  • Access to dozens of samples of work for inspiration and project ideas.

  • Pop up shop of Kasia’s embroidery kits, threads, pattern transfer materials.

  • Friendships, laughs and creative satisfaction!

All materials and lunch and day long refreshments provided both days in the fabulous new venue of Green Door Studios where the fire will be pumping.
