THE WEDNESDAY TRIBE
Bringing makers together through the love of hand-embroidery, legacy building, and continuing of tradition.
My name is Kasia.
This is a story of why I created this space for us.
My grandmothers, great-grandmothers, aunts and women in the Polish village where I grew up, made many things by hand. Not as hobbies, but out of necessity and an honouring and caring for the things they owned.
There was a natural authenticity that we now long for in our modern digital world. Their homes and handmade treasures connected generations, spoke of their values and told stories.
I know you get it.
I’m sure you have memories of your own precious things that were handmade for you.
I’m sure you can recall the way hand knitted scarves felt around your neck when you were a child, the smell of freshly baked cakes, how squishy hand-sewn dolls were or the soothing sound of your grandmothers sewing machine.
THE INVITATION
None of these needed monetary value for us to know they were priceless.
I know that you too want to create things that matter.
Things you'll pass down and things that express who you are and what you value.
This is your invitation
to…
A place and time for you to stitch beauty, purpose and meaning into the fabric of your own life story.
Welcome to
The Wednesday Tribe
A fellowship of stitchers,
story tellers and legacy makers.
One project each month.
Thoughtfully designed.
Purposefully made.
Because the women who came before us didn't make a hundred things.
I own just one thing that my great-grandmother Olga made.
Her handmade journal from 1921. It’s imperfect, old and worn, but it’s precious to me because it came from her hands.
And it lives amongst my own hand embroidered journals.
Are you starting to get the picture of what The Wednesday Tribe is all about?
We gather once a month. We make. With purpose.
Yes, there is embroidery, there is coloured thread, there are lessons, there are patterns and instructions and there is real human company all bundled into an easy monthly rhythm.
But let me also be clear about what this isn't.
This isn't another pattern-of-the-month club drowning you in features, bonuses, and hundreds of videos you'll never watch.
This isn't about collecting more patterns or mastering every stitch that exists.
❌
No complicated platforms to learn. No overwhelming member portals. No passwords to remember.
Just a simple email with your monthly pattern, a blog post you can comment on (like the early days of the internet), and a live gathering once a month.
✅
I’m 54, many of you are in your 50s, 60s, 70s. You've told me you want something uncomplicated. You want to focus on the making and the community, not wrestling with technology.
I hear you!
THE DETAILS
As part of The Wednesday Tribe, every month you’ll receive ONE simple email with:
That month’s PDF embroidery pattern
brand new design every month, with clear stitching instructions (emailed on the Monday before our Wednesday Zoom session). That month's blog post
exclusive to The Wednesday Tribe where I'll share project ideas, variations, and inspiration and where you can leave comments and ask questions. That month’s live Zoom session link
where we'll gather together to stitch, share, and connect.
And I have added something very special that you will love.
The Making Journal
(Optional to do and no extra cost)
Imagine finding your grandmother's Making Journal. Seeing in it photos of the little dresses she embroidered, notes about who received them, the date she finished that table runner that you now own, a photo of the quilt she made in 1967. Wouldn't that be precious?
Imagine a record of your work.
A legacy for those who come after you.
Each month, your PDF will include a beautifully designed journal page for that project. It shows the that month’s pattern, has space for a postcard-sized photo, and fields to fill in:
Finished on: _________
Made for: _________
Story/Notes: _________
You'll print it out, glue it into an A4 art journal or folder, add your photo when you're finished, and fill in the details. That's it.
And, because we’re all going to be excited to share what we’ve made, three times a year, we'll have a special live Journal Zoom session. We'll show off what we made and who we gifted it to. It will become part of our rhythm and give us all incentive and inspiration to finish.
When we’ll meet
You can join the time session most convenient for you, or come to all three each month.

Monthly projects
Here’s what you can expect to be stitching once a month.
🪡✂️
Patterns will all fit within an A4 sheet (letter size in the US).
You’ll be emailed stitching instructions and thread colours.
I will always show variations to the projects so you have a choice of stitching a lot or just a little.
You’ll be encouraged to use your own colours, I will guide you with colour choices. You can use the same colours as I do but it’s not imperative.
👗👛🎁
The January and December projects are light and quick so we can ease into the year and finish off without pressure.

Depends on how much of a beginner you are. If you’ve never held a needle in your hand you might want to do my free beginners course first and then join in three months time when the sign ups open again. Our monthly projects require at least some basic experience with embroidery. You can of course join and do the beginners course on the side as you learn with us each month.

Yes! Every month when you receive your email, the PDF will contain the pattern, instructions and list of materials. BUT, you won’t need to get the exact same materials in order to do the project. I encourage everyone to work with what they’ve got and I will be guiding you all with how to choose colours and modify stitches and fabric.
-
You will need some kind of embroidery thread, an embroidery needle (I recommend a chenille size 22 needle). You’ll need a non stretch fabric, preferably a hoop unless you don’t like to use one. And that’s it. It’s fine to start with the basics, you don’t need the exact same piece f material that I use. Often i will substitute colours if I’ve run out of something. Don’t worry :)
-
I will be recording each monthly session and then adding it to my YouTube. You will get a link to each months video and you’ll be able to watch it in your own time, pause, replay, rewind. You don’t have to attend the live sessions in order to still get the full video content.
-
For the first January pattern I recommend a light coloured fabric as we’ll be tracing it through with a simple pen or pencil. In each session I will always be demonstrating various methods of pattern transfer including the use of Stick & Stitch sheets which I’ll show you how to use and where to buy.

You can join when the next sign ups open again.
This one now closes on 18th January. You’ll be able to sign up again at the end of March, at the end of June and at the end of September.
-
You’ll be able to access the exclusive Wednesday Tribe blog where you’ll find all past posts with photos, discussions and ideas. You’ll also be able to watch past videos. If you’d like to purchase patterns from past months, before you became a member, you will be able to do so at a special members only price.

In the exclusive Wednesday Tribe blog you’ll be able to leave comments and reply to others comments under each months post. I also have an active Facebook group called “Creative Embroidery With Kasia Jacquot” which you are welcome to join. It’s a big community of stitchers working on my projects. I have no doubt that some Wednesday Tribe members will be in that group.

I truly don’t want any overwhelm for you. Each months project will show a variation that you’ll be able to stitch it easily and quickly. If you really are super busy you can always pause your membership, catch up and come back when you’re ready. However I will be designing the monthly projects to make them doable in about a couple of hours per week. So if you can find half an hour in the evening a few times a week you’ll be totally fine.
The stories of three women that inspired me build The Wednesday Tribe.

My Polish great great grandmother Maria had this linen cupboard at home where she kept all her hand embroidered bed linens.
She stitched only in two colours; pink and yellow, her favourites.
She hand embroidered all the pillowcases, quilt covers and sheets.
Inside the cupboard, the linens were immaculately arranged by item and colour. The pink pillow cases were together, the yellow quilt covers were together and so on.
Each shelf inside the cupboard was trimmed with hand-made lace to match the colour of the embroidered linens.

My paternal grandmother Helena was a seamstress before and after the war in Poland. As a little girl I would spend many school holidays with her and watch her sew clothes on a foot-treadle Singer sewing machine.
She lived in a tiny one room flat where every item (of the few she owned) was cared for. Teatowels were always fresh and pressed, bedsheets and table linens were starched. The handful of furniture she had was dust free and polished. I would watch her crooked arthritic fingers faultlessly guide the fabric under the needle as her foot powered the machine.
She had a box of old fabrics that she would let me play with each time I visited. My favourite was an old curtain that she gathered with thread at one end and made into a bridal veil for me.
Once she crocheted a hat for me. It was hot pink with bouncy curly bits hanging off it that brought me untold joy each time I shook my head.

In my hometown village there was an old woman who lived two doors down from my grandparents. We all called her “Wujanka” which loosely translates to “great aunt” but I don’t think she was an actual relative of ours.
I would run past her house many times on my way to my grandfather's workshop. Her house was always open for us to visit. It was a two room cottage with a green tiled wood fire stove. Her loungeroom was neatly arranged with hand crocheted doilies on the arm rests, little glass animal ornaments on top of her black and white TV, and fake plastic flowers in a crystal vase without water.
Every visit, no matter how many times we popped in, was met with a beaming smile and food. She made the best donuts I had ever eaten.
Above the entrance into the kitchen was a hand embroidered white linen teatowel. It was stitched with dainty colourful flowers around the edges. On the right hand side was Jesus and on the left was his mother Mary. Between them, stitched with a running writing font were the words: “Bez Boga ani do proga.” Which rhymes and it’s tricky to translate exactly but it means: “don’t approach if you are without God”. She had strong values and wasn’t afraid to make them known.
